Accident & Sickness Hospital Indemnity Plan (HIP)


This plan pays for each day an insured is hospital confined as the result of an accident or sickness. Accident and Sickness Hospital Indemnity Plan pays a cash lump sum that can be used to pay off deductibles, child care, transportation expenses, relief from loss of income, or any other financial need. While we don’t plan to get sick or injured, we can plan for the expenses associated with hospitalization when something goes wrong.

Plan Benefits

  • In-Hospital Indemnity Benefit: We will pay the daily In-Hospital Benefit Amount for each day a Covered Person is In-Hospital due to a Sickness or Accident. The first day of a Hospital stay must occur within thirty (30) days of the Accident, causing the Injury. The In-Hospital Benefit Amount will be paid until the earliest of the date the: Covered Person dies; Covered Person is no longer In-Hospital; or Maximum Number of Days, {0}, has elapsed; or Maximum Benefit Amount has been paid. We will not pay more than the Maximum Benefit Amount.
  • Intensive Care Unit Indemnity Benefit: We will pay the daily Intensive Care Unit Benefit Amount for each day of Confinement if an Accident or Sickness causes a Covered Person to be Confined in an Intensive Care Unit. This benefit is paid in addition to the In-Hospital Benefit Amount. The first day of Confinement in the Intensive Care Unit must occur within thirty (30) days of the Accident. The Intensive Care Unit Benefit Amount will be paid until the earliest of the date: the Covered Person dies; the Covered Person is no longer Confined in an Intensive Care Unit; or the Maximum Number of Days, {0}, has elapsed. We will not pay more than the Maximum Benefit Amount.
  • Recuperation Indemnity Benefit: We will pay the daily Recuperation Benefit Amount Benefit once the Covered Person has been discharged from the Hospital if: a Sickness or Accident causes a Covered Person to be In-Hospital Confined; and such Covered Person received a benefit under the In-Hospital Benefit of this policy. If the Covered Person dies while In-Hospital, no Recuperation Benefit is payable. We will not pay more than the Maximum Benefit Amount.

This policy does not apply to the extent that trade or economic sanctions or other laws or regulations prohibit Us from providing insurance.  In addition, this insurance does not apply to: 1) Cosmetic surgery or care or treatment solely for cosmetic purposes, or complications therefrom; 2) Any Accident or Sickness caused by or resulting from, directly or indirectly, the Covered Person’s commission or attempted commission of a felony or being engaged in an illegal occupation; 3) Alcoholism or drug or substance abuse. In addition, the insurance does not apply to any confinement in a detoxification facility or drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility that is not also a Hospital or part of a Hospital; 4) a Covered Person’s Pre-existing Condition during the first 12 months that a Covered Person is insured under this policy; (Preexisting Condition means an Accident or a Sickness for which, in the 6 months before the Covered Person becomes insured under the policy, medical advice, treatment or care was sought by a Covered Person, or was recommended by, prescribed by or received from a Physician) ; 5) Normal pregnancy (complications of Pregnancy are covered as any other Sickness); 6) Pregnancy of a Dependent Child, unless required by law; 7) Any rest care or custodial care or treatment for any Accident or Sickness; 8) Suicide, attempted suicide or intentionally self - inflicted injury; 9) Voluntary abortion, except with respect to the Covered Person or his or her covered Spouse or Party to a Civil Union where such person’s life would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term; 10) Any Accident or Sickness caused by or resulting from, directly or indirectly, war, undeclared war, civil war, insurrection, rebellion, revolution, warlike acts by a military force or personnel, any action taken in hindering or defending against any of these or any consequences of any of these acts regardless of any other direct or indirect cause or event, whether covered or not, contributing in any sequence to the loss; 11) Routine newborn well baby care, including routine nursery charges; 12) Any Accident or Sickness arising out of and in the course of any occupation for compensation, wage or profit or which are payable under Occupational Disease Law, Workers Compensation or similar law, whether or not application for such benefits have been made.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the 'Complete Orders' link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
